State Pageants

Age Divisions

Our state pageants feature six age divisions: Princess (3-6), Sweetheart (7-9), Preteen (10-12), Junior Teen (13-15), Teen (16-18), and Coed (19-24) with ages determined as of January 1st of competition year.

Phases of Competitions

State pageants offer contestants the opportunity to compete in three overall phases of competition for a chance to represent their state at our National Finals. These phases are: Interview where contestants will be able to have a conversation with each of our judges one by one, Introduction where they will model their interview outfit and give a 30 second speech about themselves,  and Eveningwear where contestants will show their confidence, personality, personal style,  and poise as they compete in the gown of their choice

Scoring and Judging

All events are equally weighted. Judges will score independently and will not form any decisions based on consensus. Final results are determined by the total of all scores, no final ranking will be performed. Contestants will not be permitted to discuss the results with the judges but will have the opportunity to request their scores and comments from the national office. Additional guidance, rules, and information will be provided in the State Handbook & Newsletters.
